Administrative Professionals Day
April
Fools Day began in England in the
1700s, as a custom of sending naive people on foolish errands.
Don't let this happen to you! Call QCS and let us handle all
your errands, foolish or not.
Need
your taxes mailed at the last minute? Out of manila envelopes?
Calculator batteries dead? Call us, we're here to help!
Passover
is a celebration of the Jewish people's freedom from slavery
in Egypt in 1300 BCE.
It is a holiday of freedom, renewal, and family, and features
traditional meals called Seders. QCS can help with all your
holiday meal planning, whether you need matzo delivered or
full party assistance.
Administrative
Professionals Day recognizes the work of secretaries,
administrative assistants, and other professionals for their
contributions to the workplace. Let QCS arrange something
special for your staff, call us for ideas!
Have
other dates this month that are important to you: birthdays,
anniversaries, etc.? Visit our Forget
Me Not page on our website to learn how QCS can make sure
no important date ever goes forgotten again.

Drowning
in Clutter? It's Spring Cleaning
Time! |
|

|
|
When
you look around your home or office are you overwhelmed ?
Clutter is insidious, as it creeps up on us when we're not
looking. Once it's there, it's very easy to become
overwhelmed. You may think that you'll never reach the bottom
of the mess, so why even start? It just feels easier to keep
on ignoring it.
Don't!
Decluttering is within your reach! By setting aside just 15
minutes a day, you can make a real dent in the piles. Set a
timer for 15 minutes (so you're certain the end is in sight!),
turn on some good music, even pour yourself a glass of wine
for courage. Then, pick a place to start today: your desk,
your bedroom floor, the junk drawer, a countertop in the
garage, a kitchen cabinet, the refridgerator. Hold each
individual item in your hand and ask yourself this KEY
question:
Do
I Love It? Do I Use It Right Now?
If
you can't answer yes to one or the other, it's got to go! Make
three piles: keep, toss, and sell.
Keep
is for the items you DO love and DO use at this time. But be
honest: clothes that haven't fit in years (wear things that
make you look and feel great TODAY!), old ticket stubs (the
memory of the great time you had lives in your mind, not in
the ticket stub!), your grandmother's pressure cooker (she
won't mind if you get rid of it, and she'll never know
anyway!) have got to GO!
Toss
is for the items that are genuinely garbage: dried up pens,
out of date medication, empty sunscreen bottles, empty
margarine containers, unrepairable clothing, dead plants, old
paint, takeout ketchup packages, old makeup, freezer burned or
moldy food. Remember to recycle anything you can, and call
your local disposal experts to find out where to take such
hazardous items as paint and motor oil.
Sell
is for the items you no longer need or use, but that could be
useful to others. You may choose to hold a yard sale and make
some extra cash (your trash is another person's treasure!), or
you may just want to donate the items to a charity such as
Goodwill. Be thoughtful though: no one wants your holey or
stained clothes, broken kitchen gadgets, or electronics that
haven't worked in years.
You
may find you are feeling so good about your progress that you
keep going after the 15 minutes are up! But if not, pat
yourself on the back for a job well done, and schedule your
next 15 minutes for tomorrow.
QCS
has tremendous expertise at decluttering and organizing homes
and spaces. If you simply can't face it, want help in
decision-making, or want someone to run your yard sale for
you, give us a call. You'll be amazed at how painless our
"voice of reason" can make spring cleaning!

Let
QCS Help You Save at the
Pump! |
|
|
|
If
you've filled your tank recently, the prices above probably
feel pretty close to the truth! According to AAA, average fuel
prices are 12 percent higher than a year ago. A driver with a
20-gallon vehicle, buying gas at the average price, is paying
$4.40 more to fill up than at this time last year. Experts
have forecast that gas prices could rise an additional 15
cents this spring, due to higher crude oil prices.
AAA
data shows that 70 percent of the miles people drive are for
family errands or for social and recreational activities.
Running errands and making frequent stops is a great way to
burn fuel (and money!). Save gas by letting QCS run your
errands for you! Contact us today and learn how we can help
you rebalance your life AND spend less at the pump.
