14 Flag Day
Flag Day started as a grass-roots movement in New York and
Pennsylvania in the late 1800s to display the flag on June 14,
the date of the official adoption of the Stars and Stripes in
1777. In 1949, President Truman made it official with an Act
of Congress. Be sure to display the flag proudly this year and
take a moment to ponder what this symbol of freedom means to
you.
18 Father's Day
Father's Day is always observed on the 3rd Sunday in June.
It was started by a woman who was raised by her father, and
who decided there should be a day to celebrate Dads. In 1924,
President Coolidge proclaimed it a national celebration. Let
your Dad know how much he means to you this year. QCS can be
sure he has the perfect gift waiting for him on his special
day.
21 Summer Solstice
In the northern hemisphere, the Summer Solstice is the day
of the year with the most daylight hours, marking the first
day of the season of Summer. In civilizations both ancient and
modern, there are many festivals and celebrations around this
day. Why not plan your own solstice celebration this year?
There's simply no better day to get outside and enjoy all that
Summer has to offer.
Have other dates this month that are important to you:
birthdays, anniversaries, etc.? Visit our Forget
Me Not page on our website to learn how QCS can make sure
no important date ever goes forgotten again.

| Book Worms Beware |
 |
Do you love to read? Have you joined a book club? Have you
joined more than one book club? What do you do with your books
when you are finished reading them? If you are like many
people, your book case is overflowing and there are stacks of
books in your office or on your coffee table. Take a few tips
for reducing the stacks and stacks of books that you will most
likely never read again.
- Give books to friends and family members and let them
know that when they are done, they should in turn pass the
book along to someone they know.
- Donate to your local library or the local high school
- Donate to your local coffee shop – many independently
owned coffee shops would love to have a reading corner. If
they don’t have one already, introduce the idea.
- Include them in a garage sale or drop off at Goodwill.
The key is to pass the book along so it no longer takes up
space in your home. If you like the idea of passing a book on
and seeing how it makes its way through the world and who
reads it after you, check out www.bookcrossi
ng.com for a really unique and fun way to share your books
with strangers.
Remember, if it’s a classic that you anticipate reading
again, then it should be given space in your library. If it
was a fun read that you enjoyed, but may never read again,
pass it on.

| Here Luggage, Luggage, Luggage! |
 |
Your trip started off rough and now they have damaged or
even lost your luggage! What do you do? Don't panic or lose
your cool. There are a few key things to do that can aid in
the return and replacement of your things.
Damaged Luggage: Check your bags immediately for
signs of damage or tampering. If you notice a problem, see the
Airline Baggage Claim Attendant immediately. If there is no
attendant on hand, go to the customer service desk and ask for
assistance. Follow the attendant’s instructions carefully;
file any claims within the allotted time. Be sure that if the
airline has an airline- sanctioned luggage repair vendor, you
use them. If you choose to use your own vendor, your repairs
may not be reimbursed.
Lost Luggage: If your bag does not appear on
the baggage carousel after your flight, don’t panic. See the
Baggage Claim Attendant; the airline can almost always track
your bag. In most cases, the bag may be on the next flight or
has made it to the wrong airport. It may be just a few hours
or a day or two until your bag is returned to you.Be sure to
give the attendant an address and phone number where you can
be reached. The airlines will, in most cases, deliver your
luggage to you. If the bag is truly LOST and the airline can
not locate it, be sure to get a written claim for damages.
Helpful Hints:
- Be sure to keep a luggage tag on all your bags (even
your carry-on) with current phone number where you can be
reached.
- When checking in, pay attention to the destination tag
attached to each of your bags, be sure to get the claim tags
and be sure the information is correct. It sounds simple,
but how often do you rush through this part to get to
security?
- Keep ID, valuables, medication, cameras and computers in
your carry-on.
- Leave yourself plenty of time, late check-ins can lead
to baggage issues as well as elevating your personal stress
level.
Happy trails to you!

You Can Do THAT For Me?! |
|
|
|
As we talk about the work we do, invariably folks are
stunned to find out about some recent task we handled. So,
each month we'll tell you about something interesting we've
done. It might also spark an idea for how we can help YOU!
Do you ever find your laundry piling up and you simply
can't get to it? For one of our clients, this was becoming a
real problem. Extremely busy executives, they travel
extensively, work long hours, and just couldn't find the time
to take care of the piles of dirty clothes.
Each week we pick up their laundry and dry cleaning items
from their home. We drop off the dry cleaning, and deliver the
laundry to a wash-n-fold full service laundromat. Three days
later, we pick up the clean items, and put them away in the
client's home.
Sounds simple, right? Yet each week we are saving our
clients around 4 hours of valuable time. If you find you just
can't get to your nagging errands, let us know. We're here to
give you back your time! |
