Greetings!
As we head back to school and into Fall, I hope you can take a
moment to remember the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and its
devastating effects. My family was strongly affected, as my husband
is from the Gulf Coast. While no longer daily news, the people of
that region are still struggling mightily and charities can still
really use your help. In October, my husband and I will celebrate
our 10th wedding anniversary at the hotel in New Orleans where we
were married. If you've never been to the Crescent City, this is a
great time to go--the weather's perfect, attractions are reopened,
and they need your tourism dollars more than ever. Let us know if we
can help you plan the perfect trip.
With our newsletter, it is our goal to provide useful information
and tips to help you keep your life in balance, and to be on call
for you when you need help. We'd love to hear what you would like to
see in upcoming issues.
With a Jazz song in my heart,
Ellen Lovelace, Founder and President

4 Labor Day
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of
the labor movement and is dedicated to the achievements of
American workers. It is a tribute to the contributions workers
make to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our
country. (source: Department of Labor) Ironic, isn't it, that
now it's a huge shopping day, when workers have to work
instead of celebrating!
11 Patriot Day
Remember the brave victims of September 11, 2001, on this
day. The flag is flown at half-staff, and there is a national
moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Eastern time. This day
represents the greatness of America, be sure to commemorate it
in your own way.
17 Citizenship Day/Constitution Day
Observes the anniversary of the US Constitution being
signed in 1787. President Harry Truman established the day to
give recognition to new American Citizens, with celebrations
to impress the privileges and responsibilities of U.S.
citizenship. Truly, did you know September was such a
patriotic month?!
23 Autumn Equinox
Fall arrives at 12:03 a.m. Eastern time. Have you forgotten
exactly why leaves change color? Click
here!
Have other dates this month that are important to you:
birthdays, anniversaries, etc.? Visit our Forget
Me Not page on our website to learn how QCS can make sure
no important date ever goes forgotten again.

| Helping Your Student to Succeed |
 |
School is back in session and the “lazy days of summer”
have come to an end. Have you vowed to help your student do
better in school this year than they did last year? Did you
promise to take a more active role in their studies and
activities? Don’t lose your momentum! You can help in more
ways than you know.
Establish the Expectations Go over your child’s list
of classes and talk about them. Are they worried about doing
well in Geometry? Do they feel they lack the talents to
succeed in Home Economics? Do they think a C- will suffice to
get by? Set the expectation of the GPA you know they can
realistically accomplish. Let them know that you are there to
support them and if they need extra help-- and here’s the
key-- be willing to help (or hire a tutor for them)! Knowing
they can come to you for support may be the recipe for your
student’s success.
Study Environment Where does your child do their
homework? In their room with the radio playing so loud that
you need earplugs? Is the environment orderly? Some students
can actually work in a messy environment, but it’s not likely.
A good desk or well lit table is the best place for homework.
A room that is picked up and orderly will also enhance focus
on the subjects at hand. You might consider having a
professional organizer come in and create a work/study
environment for you and your child.
Exercise? Yes, exercise is very important. Not only
does it get the blood flowing and supply increased oxygen to
the brain, improving learning and memory, it also increases
one’s energy level and wards off depression.
Avoid Procrastination If a report is due in two
weeks, why wait until the night before to start it? This only
causes panic and stress for everyone in the house. Stay on top
of projects and reports; put them on the calendar and schedule
time between now and the due date to focus on completing them
early. Most of these due dates are available online. Get on
the school’s web site regularly and make notes on your
calendar. Being proactive can be contagious, you may find your
student keeping a day timer of their own soon.
Best of luck this year to your student and you!

QCS is thrilled to tell you that we are growing by leaps
and bounds! As we move into the next phase of our growth and
look to further expand our client base, we are looking for
additional Business Development Representatives to work with
us.
Successful Concierge Business Development Representatives
are outside sales experts. Reps generate interest, develop and

QCS. They make the appointments and seal the deals.
We're looking for a minimum of two years of outside sales

success at turning unqualified leads into sales revenue. Reps
have extensive knowledge of the customer service, hospitality,
and/or human resources/benefits industry, as well as an
established “rolodex” of business contacts they will work to
generate new leads and new clients.
Representatives work out of a virtual office, and must live
in the Bay Area and be highly computer skilled. The best Reps
are high-energy entrepreneurial-minded people who like to be
part of a team, yet have the ability to work independently.
Our Reps are highly motivated to seek out new accounts in
untapped areas, and they enjoy challenges and overcoming
objection. Most importantly, they have over-the-top
communication and interpersonal skills. They are dynamic,
passionate, self-motivated, credible, professional,
articulate, friendly, optimistic, goal oriented and success
driven. Finally, dedication to extreme customer service is an
